Blepharoplasty often requires a little trim of skin, some muscle tightening, and either fat removal or repositioning depending upon individual characteristics and requests. Eyelid surgery commonly performed on both the upper and lower lids in order to perform a harmonious look. On occasion a brow lift and or a facelift will also be added to enhance the face as well. Recently Dr Charles Perry has added the transconjunctival blepharoplasty for those patients whom only have a little extra fat that bulges from the lower lid. The advantage of this approach is that there are no external incisions on the lower eyelid. Some have referred to it as a “no touch technique” or incision-less (like the closed rhinoplasty). This allows for quicker recovery in most cases. It is important to review your goals with your physician prior to any surgical procedure and discuss in detail all the possibilities. In some instances a little skin can be removed from the lower lid or a laser resurfacing performed at the same time to enhance the skins texture tightness and result. There are many options available for and we look forward to discussing your individual needs.
