What Is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®?

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is an FDA-approved, state-of-the-art dermal filler from the JUVÉDERM family of products. Comprised of hyaluronic acid and a unique, gel-like consistency, VOLUMA® can be used to address volume loss in the midfacial area. Changes in facial shape can occur for many reasons, and one of the most common is due to volume loss. The natural process of aging can lead to this effect, as can adverse health conditions, genetics, and other factors. If you’re noticing changes in facial contour on the upper, middle, and lower cheeks, VOLUMA® may be able to help you address this concern.

Where Is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® Used?

VOLUMA® is specifically designed to return the contour of the cheek area to a fuller, more youthful volume. VOLUMA® is made with a thicker version of hyaluronic acid that can better recreate the natural shape of the midfacial region and last longer than many other fillers. With a simple application, VOLUMA® can lift and enhance flattened cheeks virtually instantaneously for up to two years.

Who Is a Good Candidate for JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®?

If you are bothered by volume loss in your midface caused by aging, health, or other influences, VOLUMA® may be suitable for you. Dr. Charles Perry, our board-certified plastic surgeon, or one of our skilled Nurse Injectors will evaluate your needs and discuss your goals to determine if VOLUMA® or another treatment can achieve the optimal result.* In addition to assessing your anatomic characteristics, they will review your medical history and listen attentively to your treatment preferences. They will then develop a customized cosmetic program based on this evaluation.

What Is the JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® Procedure Like?

Most patients find the treatment process for JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® to be easy and quick. VOLUMA® will be administered into a series of locations on the cheeks using ultrafine needles. The XC in JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC refers to Lidocaine®, a local anesthetic that is included in the formula for your comfort. If you would like, we can also apply cold compresses to further enhance your experience. The procedure typically takes about 15-30 minutes to complete, and many individuals choose to have the treatment performed over their lunch break.

What Are the Side Effects of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®?

One of the many benefits of VOLUMA® is the minimal downtime and recovery. Some minor swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection sites is not uncommon, and these effects should fade within a few days.

What Is JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® Recovery Like?

After treatment, you are welcome to return to your normal schedule, including work, school, and other activities. Makeup can be worn to cover any symptoms you experience. We suggest avoiding facial massage for the first day after the procedure.

How Much Does JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® Cost?

The cost of VOLUMA® treatments will vary depending on how much you need to achieve your desired outcome. During your initial consultation, our medical team will discuss the price of your unique plan. If you would like to consider plastic surgery financing options, we can guide you to a reputable agency.
