JUVÉDERM® is a smooth product that enables your tissues to hold more water and provides a natural soft look and feels smooth as well. If you are over 18 and thinking of facial enhancement and want a smooth look and feel JUVÉDERM® may be right for you. It contains a sugar (or polymer) produced from bacteria that occurs naturally in our tissues and is produced naturally by cells specifically for the human.

Where Is JUVÉDERM® Used?

Most commonly, JUVÉDERM® is used in the creases around the lips. Non-FDA uses that are commonly sought are improving the fullness of the lips and around the eyes to reduce the wrinkles. It can also be used to shape the eyebrows and nose.

Learn About Allergan Brilliant Distinctions™ Program

Dr. Charles Perry, our extensively trained plastic surgeon, and Chrysalis Cosmetics is pleased to announce the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions™ Program! This new loyal program sponsored by Allergan enables patients to earn points with every JUVÉDERM® injection! These points can be used towards coupons on future BOTOX® or JUVÉDERM® treatments! Coupon can be used towards the purchase of Latisse® as well. Please request a membership packet at your next JUVÉDERM® treatment or contact our office for more information!

Is JUVÉDERM® Right for You?

Juvederm® is ideal for those wishing to improve their facial contours, minimize creases, or augment their lips. As long as you are over 18, are of stable mental and physical health, and have a good understanding regarding the limitations of JUVÉDERM®, you are a good candidate for this treatment.

Things to Consider Before Undergoing Injections With Fillers

JUVÉDERM® may be combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic

By combining these two products, facial hollowness and diminished lip volume can be addressed at the same time as fine lines.

Results last up to six months

For this reason, we encourage patients to schedule follow-up appointments at the time of the initial treatment.

Juvederm® is hypoallergenic

Because JUVÉDERM® does not contain animal proteins, the risk of allergic reactions is low, and no skin test is required prior to treatment as with other dermal fillers.

How is Juvederm® injected?

Filler injections typically are simple and quick. Usually, each session lasts 20 to 30 minutes. Our surgeon may numb the area with a local or topical anesthetic before injecting the JUVÉDERM®, which appears as a clear gel. JUVÉDERM® yields immediate results, and you will be free to resume your normal activities after treatment.

Risks of Juvederm®

Complications related to JUVÉDERM® are all related to the injection of the product, rather than the product itself. Risks of JUVÉDERM® injections include:

Discomfort

Redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and moderate pain may occur after treatment. These effects will disappear within a few days.

Disappointing or unnatural result

Especially when JUVÉDERM® is used to augment the lips, the product can yield an unnatural, asymmetrical, or otherwise disappointing result.

*New Injections Policy

While Dr. Perry performs many of our injectable treatments, his surgery schedule continues to grow and he wants to make injectable procedures as convenient as possible for our patients. This is why many of our injectable treatments will be performed by our extensively trained and highly skilled nurse injectors. If patients specifically request to see Dr. Perry for injectable appointments, there may be a delay of at least one month, and the treatment will require a minimum of one of these options:

A) 50 units of BOTOX® Cosmetic and 2 syringes of a dermal filler solution

B) 3 syringes of a dermal filler solution

Or

C) An MD injection fee of $200 if the patient is only receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic or less than 3 syringes of a dermal filler solution

Please contact Chrysalis Cosmetics with any questions about our new injections policy.
